Description

Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra Clumping Cat Litter is a unique formulation that combines the heavy non-tracking granules of Precious Cat Classic with a medium-grain clay. The result is an excellent clumping litter that prevents moisture from reaching the bottom of the tray while providing a clump that will not break down. This cat litter is perfect for multi-cat households and those cat parents with sifting or mechanical litter boxes. With its superior odor control, you can be sure your home will always smell fresh and clean.

Key Benefits
  • 99.9% dust free, hypo-allergenic natural litter to keep your surfaces clean and perfect for families who suffer from allergies.
  • Hard clumping, medium-grain clay makes it the perfect clumping litter that helps prevent moisture.
  • Multi-cat formula and superior odor control keeps your home smelling clean and fresh day in and day out.
  • Ideal for sifting and mechanical litter boxes so it's easier for you to dispose of your kitty's waste.
  • Forms hard clumps that don't break down making easier to scoop up and clean the box twice daily.
Precautions

Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

    Pretty good

By gilly on Nov 17, 2021

I like this litter overall compared to others I've tried. It has some dust when initially pouring it but seems minimal otherwise, and tracking also is minimal and most is caught by my mat. It was a lot less than a tidy cat lightweight or grass seed. It clumps well too and truly is unscented but covers odors pretty well. I agree with another reviewer that I feel like I may go through it more but I also change it weekly or biweekly though it says it can last a month, just personal preference. And I was using Worlds Best corn litter which is lighter weight that I seemed to go through less quickly, but I just didn't think it covered odor well plus has a natural barnyard smell I didn't find appealing I like this litter overall compared to others I've tried. I would recommend this for an unscented clay clumping litter. I'd like something lighter, low dust, good odor control, and more environmentally friendly but i haven't found another type that I like better so far. … more

    Ideal litter for my house

By IzzysMom on Oct 31, 2021

For my purposes this cat litter is the best I've found. When I put new litter in Izzy's box, there's zero dust ascending from it. Her box is in my small bathroom, not far from my bed. I smell *nothing* at night, or in the daytime. I clean the box daily because it's always right in front of me, or sometimes even at two-day intervals if it looks like nothing much has been happening (it's a big box), and there's still no odor at all. Normal issues such as tracking will certainly occur. It's inevitable. I have a good mat in front of the box, on her usual traffic pattern, that deals with most of that, and keep a whisk broom and dustpan at hand at all times. I'm willing to pay a bit more for these two traits. … more

    Good so far!

By Beee on Oct 31, 2021

I ordered this litter in hopes that it would stop my cat from spreading litter everywhere. So far it is MUCH better than my old litter. It tracks some, but not nearly as bad as other litters I've tried. This litter does have some dust. When we poured it a small cloud of dust was present, though not as bad a the usual plume of dust that we would get from our old litter. The bag came in broken but only about a pound or two of litter had spilled so it wasn't a very big deal. I also like that it is in a bag rather than a box because I can see how full the bag is instead of having to guess how much litter is left from the weight of a box. Solid option.

By Maya on Oct 28, 2021

I've been on the hunt for the perfect litter, but am new in my search. This is the second litter I'm trying. It is low dust when pouring and covers smells well when my kitten covers her poop and pee. There is some tracking due to the larger and heavier granules, but it is minimized with a mat outside the litter box. Despite adding 3-4" of litter in the box, some of it sticks to the sides, but I suspect that's because my cat likes to pee in the corner. Unlike other reviewers mention, I don't have any issues scraping it off. As for clumping, I find that it's just ok. Sometimes when scooping the clumps break up into smaller pieces that I can't get with the scoop. This means that after 2 weeks I've been on the hunt for the perfect litter, but am new in my search. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do it so frequently since my litter box is extra large and can take more than half the bag to fill. I feel like I do go through this litter very fast for having only one cat, I'm not sure if it's because of the clumping or because it's so heavy. I've also noticed that after 2 weeks of using it, it seems to grind itself into finer granules in the box, so it is much dustier than when I first poured it. … more

    This wasn't good

    By MCS2 on Nov 9, 2021

    * 2-cat family | 1 shared litterbox (large) | daily scoopings | weekly full litter-replace * Just saw that someone else recently reviewed this litter poorly for the same reasons I'm here. Maybe this was a bad batch? But JEEZE - the amount of litter cement at the bottom of the box is WILD. After only 3 days, I've had to trash the whole bin to start fresh. And the tracking/scatter is no better than any other clay litter. I give it 2 stars because it is truly unscented, and does a passable job at keeping odors at bay. If it helps, the litter I've used most recently is "Ever Clean Extra Strength Unscented Clumping Clay Cat Litter". The scattering is comparable and the odor control is similar * 2-cat family | 1 shared litterbox (large) | daily scoopings | weekly full litter-replace * Just saw that someone else recently reviewed this litter poorly for the same reasons I'm here. Great cat litter with minimum of dust

By ToffeesMom on Nov 7, 2021

I have been using Dr. Elsey's Ultra cat litter for years after trying several. They all seem to have some dust, but Dr. Elsey's is the best at keeping the dust down. It doesn't billow up dust when pouring it into the litter pan, so it is a definite plus. It is very important for me since I suffer from nasal allergies. My cat is very happy to use his box and the litter clumps together very nicely. One of the side effects of kidney disease is very large urine output, and this litter meets the challenge of clumping all the waste together.

Works great when it doesn't come damaged!

By Laura on Nov 27, 2021

I like this litter but the bag needs to be more durable. In the past, the litter has rarely come with a hole, but recently the litter bag arrived with two holes. Make your bags more durable, Dr. Elsey! I like this product and want to actually be able to use it rather than adding unnecessary stress to my day by cleaning up a mess because of your product.

    How I despise this litter!

By CatMom on Nov 3, 2021

TL;DR: Takes forever to sift, dries like cement on the bottom of the box, low tracking must mean something different to them. Everyone raves about Dr. Elsey litter, so I thought I'd give it a go. Little did I know what I was in for. It took me easily twice as long to scoop my cat's box out because the various size particles will *not* sift with my scoop (which has handled every other litter I've tried just fine). So I have to tilt it this way and that way just to get the unused litter out before I can toss the giant cement block that has become my cat's pee. And yes, it dried like cement to the bottom of the tray, to the corners, even to the walls, and I scoop the boxes daily. I don't know what low tracking means to most people, but I've had more litter in front of that box than the finer grain litter I've been using in her other box. 0/10 will never buy again. … more

    STOP - Don't Buy!!

    By Maria909 on Nov 19, 2021

This has been the worst cat litter I have used in 16 years. Attempted to clean the litter box, and the urine did not clump causing it to be a huge muddy area. In addition, tiny bugs were in the litter box, which has never happened in over 16 years. It was disgusting to say the least. I had to toss the entire litter box since it was impossible to scoop the urinated area. Waste of $$$$

    Clumps don't crumble

By Brisleep on Nov 3, 2021

It's fairly low dust, but as always, the bottom of the bag has a bit of dust. I was getting litter with Febreze, which I don't like but it was my wife's choice, she passed away 2 years ago. So I finally switched to unscented, this was the first one I chose, and I like that the clumps don't break when you scoop them out, it's really made a difference in how much tracking happens. Mr. Nimbus likes it, no scent and no bits stuck to his paws, I like it for those reasons and low dust when adding or dumping the litter.
